Memberships
The membership consists of Undergraduates, Graduates, Honorary, and Associates Members, Members-At-Large.

Undergraduates
Undergraduate members are those members who are enrolled in an accredited school, college or university pursuing work leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree or a certificate.

Graduates
Graduate members are women of good moral character and reputation who: (1) have a baccalaureate/associate degree; or (2) have completed an approved two-year specialized training program or equivalent in professional experience.

Honorary
Honorary members are women of high distinction who have won recognition on a national or international scope.

Associates Members
Associate members are women of good moral character and reputation who: (1) have a baccalaureate/associate degree; or (2) have completed an approved two-year specialized training program or equivalent in professional experience.


Member-At-Large
Members-at-large are women of good moral character and reputation who: (1) have a baccalaureate/associate degree; or (2) have completed an approved two-year specialized training program or equivalent in professional experience. Members-at-large will be trained and inducted at the regional level. Members with this status may become Building Fund Life Members. Upon becoming a Building Fund Life Member, this individual will have a vote at Regional Conferences and Boulé. Members-at-large may serve on Regional and National committees; but cannot hold a regional or national office. Members in other categories may not switch to the member-at-large category.

 


 

 Special Membership Categories

Life Membership
Gamma Phi Delta Life Membership status may be awarded to any inducted member who meets specifications as described in National Handbook under National Awards and Honors.

Building Fund Life Membership
Gamma Phi Delta Building Fund Life Membership shall be conferred upon those persons who meet specifications as described in National Handbook under National Awards and Honors. This special membership is open to Sorors, Honorary and Associate members.

Auxiliaries
The national auxiliaries of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated are the following: Rosebuds, Phi-Teens, Junior Cavaliers, Cavaliers, Senior Cavaliers, and Echoes; and they shall be governed by the National Organization. Auxiliary groups shall be sponsored by local Graduate chapters.
 


 

"Pearls"
Gamma Phi Delta named "Thirteen Original Pearls". These were women who made outstanding contributions to the Organization in the formation period and in the expansion process. These women shall always remain as the "Thirteen Original Pearls". Eight of the thirteen are "Pearls-In-Memoriam".

Gamma Phi Delta Sorority "Living Pearls"
Because of the need to maintain thirteen active Pearls in Gamma Phi Delta, it was adopted by the Boulé in session at Detroit, Michigan on July 29, 1976 to establish the "THIRTEEN LIVING PEARLS" by election. This group does not replace the "PEARLS" named by the Organization as previously mentioned. Those Pearls will always remain as establish. Pearls, in both categories, upon demise, shall become "PEARLS-IN-MEMORIAM"
