Greetings Sorors,

In 1943 our Founder, Soror Elizabeth Garner, and Co-Founder, Soror Violet T. Lewis, stepped forward with bold courage, enthusiasm and charted a course into the world of Greekdom with the formation of this unique organization for business and professional women now known as Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc.

 The organization immediately made history through its many dedicated efforts on behalf of women and children, fostering educational opportunities, sponsoring a showcase for talented youth through the “Artist of Tomorrow” program since 1943 and many other benevolent enterprises and social functions that served to improve the quality of life.

 A clearly marked trail was left for us to follow and it is evident that we have done so.  In one year it will bring us to the National 65th Celebration of Excellence and Dedication to our members and communities.

·         Excellence in Organizational Programming

The leaders that followed our courageous Founders continue the tradition of excellence and dedication.

We are dedicated, because we are proud of our past. We rejoice because of our accomplishments, we are challenged to set new goals and will chart the course for an illustrious future.  We are inspired to Excellence and Dedication.  

We celebrated the Golden Anniversary “50 years of Excellence” 1943-1993, Washington, D.C., Supreme Basileus Frances L. Jarrett and the 55 years, “Empowering Young People Toward Excellence for the 21st Century”, at the 50th Boulé in Miami, Florida, Supreme Basileus Patricia A. Daniels.

I will be working closely with the national committee, the host chapter, South Atlantic Regional Officers, and you, the dedicated Sorors of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. With all of us working together, we will make this celebration one that will always be remembered.
